Description
A value stream map requires you to capture data from each major process step. These are called “data boxes.” Based on the process, there are numerous metrics that may need to be collected, such as: Yield, Setup Time, Manual Cycle Time (MCT), Queue Time, Lead Time, Inventory/Backlog, # of People/Shifts, Overtime %, Available Time, % Complete and Accurate, Energy (kWh), Landfill tonnage (Waste), Equipment/Server Uptime %, or add your own. Definitions of each metric is provided in the template.
Download this template to provide to team members who are preparing for a VSM event, so they know what metrics to collect. These Excel sheets can be printed out and posted underneath each box of the value stream map. Includes versions for material (manufacturing) and information (office) flow metrics.
