What are my options if I took a Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt class, but never completed a project for certification?

This question has been one of the most difficult ones to answer. I haven’t had a good solution that didn’t end up costing thousands of dollars.

The purpose of a Green Belt or Black Belt certification is to show tangible experience on a real-life project, not just complete training. The project is intended to recoup the investment in the training cost.

However, projects can be difficult to define and complete. In my experience, only 20-50% of those completing Six Sigma training actually complete a project (despite my reminders and stressing the importance).

If you’re in that situation, I now have an option for you that I feel confident sharing!

I’ve partnered with OpEx Training to offer low cost online training and certification at the Lean Fundamentals, Green Belt and Black Belt levels.

The course will allow you to refresh your skills on the Six Sigma concepts and tools. If you add the certification option, you will get coaching and mentoring help on your project from me. Completion of the project will earn you an official Six Sigma certification. Certification can open up new job opportunities for you, or boost your salary.

  • Green Belt training costs $299 and certification costs $200 for a total of $499
  • Black Belt training costs $499 and certification costs $350 for a total of $849
  • Lean Fundamentals costs $249 and certification costs $200 for a total of $449

These three options are much more affordable than traditional options in the past.

Some of you have mentioned that you did a project, but no longer work at the company and cannot access information about the project. Others have mentioned that they are not allowed to share the slides or data from your project due to sensitive information or client restrictions. Through the certification review process, you can talk through your unique situations like this, and we can figure out alternative methods to qualify your past project work.

If you can’t think of a project you could work on, check out this list of potential projects based on your industry, or consider conducting a project at home!

We also offer some coaching and consulting approaches in addition to self-learning. Learn more about our coaching programs >>>
